So, if you were wondering why there weren't any video, that's why. I decided to quit booktube. I want to start making gaming videos on a different channel, but I haven't had the time or the resources to do so. I still want to be involved with the book community. I might continue to post here, but I don't plan to come back to booktube. I've deleted Twitter off of my phone, and most of my other social media because it was just starting to get too toxic for me. Booktube is not the community it was when I started and right now I am not prepared to be a part of it anymore. I was already feeling like I was drifting from the community before, but now with all the arguing I'm definitely ready to leave. I'll always keep reading, and I'll always want to talk about books just not on booktube.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13415270475865873024noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7596743596781073939.post-16129634443313246722016-07-28T19:27:00.002-04:002016-07-28T19:27:31.464-04:00Top 5 Changes I Want in Pokemon GoNow I love Pokemon Go, but my objectives are slightly different than others. I personally want to catch them all. I don't really have a desire to battle gyms, which I know is a big part of the game for a lot of people. So these changes are more for someone who is a casual player. I don't really care about the power of my pokemon. So that's just me.

1. Different pokemon
Now I love pokemon. I haven't necessarily played every generation, but I still want to be able to catch a little mareep so I can get my ampharos. Also then we could have a little more variety in some areas. I wouldn't mind seeing a bunch of hoothoots at night, or combees flying around.

2. Better dispersion of Pokestops
I know there are plenty of Pokestops. However where I live you have to go downtown to get Pokestops now I understand that there are a lot of Pokestops in a highly concentrated area, but it is immensely frustrating. I get stressed out when I go to downtown so I tend to run out of pokeballs and have to wait until I'm going somewhere that has a Pokestop. So that makes the game a little less fun for me.

3. Higher CP pokemon should give you more candy
Any Pokemon Go player knows that they have to catch over 100 magikarp to evolve it, and it's really annoying to waste ten precious pokeballs on a higher CP pokemon. I wish there was a reward for catching higher CP pokemon or evolved pokemon.

4. Daily items
Now this might be a little greedy, but I wish you would get an item or two each day you play. So when you run out of pokeballs you can get a few every day so that you can keep playing. Now I understand that that would cause them to make less money so I understand why they wouldn't, but it would help for people who didn't have Pokestops near them. I know you can get items if you hold down a gym for a while, and I could be wrong they might give you daily items, but as far as I know they don't.

5. Better tutorial or more advice throughout the game
I personaly missed out on my first Pokestop because I forgot what they told me at the beginning of the game. I also wish it was more helpful at the beginning so I wouldn't waste all of my items right at the beginning.

What would you want to change about Pokemon Go? Are you playing? If so are you enjoying it?
<span style="background-color: black; color: white; font-family: "merriweather" , "georgia" , serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 21px; text-align: left;">Charlotte, a gifted and superbly-trained young musician, has been blindsided by a shocking betrayal in her promising career when she takes a babysitting job with the McLeans, a glamorous Upper East Side Manhattan family. At first, the nanny gig is just a way of tiding herself over until she has licked her wounds and figured out her next move as a composer in New York; she doesn't mean to stay with the family for long. But, as the reader quickly becomes aware, Charlotte is naturally gifted with children and as deeply fond of the two little boys as they are of her. When an unthinkable tragedy leaves the McLeans bereft, Charlotte is not the only one who realizes that she's the key to holding little George and Matty's world together. She finds herself facing an impossible choice between her lifelong dreams and a torn-apart family she's come to love as her own.

My Thoughts

First I would like to say that I received this from Henry Holt in exchange for a fair and honest review.

I really enjoyed this book. A lot of the characters were very relatable. The story was told in alternate timelines intertwined. So it would alternate between before and after the accident. While this was an interesting way to tell the story that's where I struggled the most with this book. It took me a while to read this so I struggled with remembering what was happening because it wasn't told in a linear fashion. However I think if I sat down and binge read the story, I wouldn't have had this problem. I really liked the writing, and I loved how the two kids developed throughout the story. You could see how the events were affecting their personality, which I thought was really interesting. Overall I would highly recommend this book especially if you are looking for an adult contemporary.

It is probably my favorite thing about my shelves. So I thought I would give advice for anyone who wanted to do this as well. So I'll break this up into some helpful sections (or at least I hope it is helpful).

What you'll need
Well the first thing you'll need is chalkboard paint. I bought the Disney brand of chalkboard paint (which you can't get anymore). I found it at my local Walmart. I have two bits of advice. My shelves are about six feet high and three feet wide. It only took on 32 fluid ounce paint can to paint two coats on my shelves, and I have two shelves to give you a bit of guidance of how much paint to buy. The second is if you don't want the black color of a chalkboard get untinted chalkboard paint. My shelves are originally white, and since I had untinted paint, they stayed white. Now this happened purely by accident for me, but it was a happy accident.

The next thing you'll need are paint brushes and a paint tray, and while I'm sure you figured this out all on your own I do have some advice. Now any old paint tray will do, but your brushes are important. I would highly recommend a roller especially if you are doing the outside of your shelves. However you will need a brush, if you paint the inside to get the corners, which was something I had overlooked.

The last thing you'll need is chalk or chalkboard markers. Now I prefer chalkboard markers, but they are definitely more expensive. However if you want it to look like paint then I would highly recommend the markers. You can get them on Amazon for a relatively nice price. However I've been buying them at Michaels because I've had an emergency need for chalkboard markers. Now this is the brand I get. While they are expensive, Michaels almost always has coupons so they aren't as expensive. With the chalkboard paint that I used it needed to cure for a week, so I would recommend ordering them from Amazon. I bought this brand from Amazon, but I don't know how well they work since I haven't used them yet.

These are all of the colors I had a few weeks ago. I have bought some browns and tans since then, but they come in a variety of colors.
Some Advice
If you are drawing something big I would recommend doing it in pencil first. I drew the Hogwarts castle, and I had to redo the whole thing. Now that was also kind of my fault because I didn't see how high I wanted it, but I would still recommend drawing in pencil first because a lot of the colors don't come off very nicely. I would also recommend paint that matches your shelves. Thank goodness my shelves are white because I could get rid of some of my mistakes to make it look nice again especially with my castle. Also have wet paper towels at all times for erasing. I would also recommend a dry one so you can dry the surface when you're done.

If you want to know more about what I plan on doing with my shelves or why I wanted to paint them in chalkboard paint in the first place you can go watch this video. If you want to do this please let me know, and if you have any questions feel free to ask!Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13415270475865873024noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7596743596781073939.post-2497782087389662312016-06-03T17:27:00.000-04:002016-06-03T17:27:09.994-04:00Let's Talk About Mental IllnessMy story
I am not one to hide what is wrong with me. Most of my friends know this, but I have struggled a lot with mental illness for the last nine years or so. I personally struggle with anxiety and panic disorder as well as depression. My anxiety has been bad for the last couple of years, but my depression, while there were good days and bad days, has been mostly under control until recently. However as some of you may know, my life has kind of unraveled over the last couple of months. I don't really have friends right now where I live, and the ones I do don't get that I just can't magically get better, but that will be a tangent in a minute.
The worst part about depression and anxiety for me is the fact that I just don't enjoy anything right now. I don't want to film, read, or play video games. I still try to film topics that I'm excited about, but when I do, they just aren't as well received. Don't get me wrong, I don't do this for views or subscribers, but when you're really excited about something and you feel like no one is watching it gets kind of disappointing especially when life already kind of sucks. However if I don't film, I then feel stressed out. I know if I said anything everyone would be like "it's fine don't worry take care of yourself", but I always feel so incredibly guilty when I don't put a video up every week. I know that's a silly thing to stress about, but for some reason it makes me so anxious if I don't film. Then I'm in the violent circle of I need to film and I'm freaking out that I haven't filmed, but I don't want to film, or if I do I don't have anything I want to talk about.

I guess the point is it's okay to be not okay. A lot of the people who are my "friends" (i.e. people in my classes or who I work with but don't see outside of class/work) don't get that. They tell me I need to try to get better right away and make myself happy. Now don't get me wrong that is important and you definitely need to take care of yourself, but it's okay to be not okay. It's okay to fall apart. It's okay not to film, or blog, or read because you just can't bring yourself to do it. It's okay to not want to get out of bed, but at some point we all need to pick ourselves up. Even if that just means going through your daily routine, which for me, getting up and going to the grocery store or getting the mail can be the hardest thing in the world to do right now. Some days, you need to focus on the little victories. So to you reading this, never forget that some days the little victories are what matters. You are not your illness, and eventually everything gets better even if it doesn't seem that way right now.
To anyone who doesn't feel important, I promise you are. There is someone in this world who is so proud of you and cares about you so much. If nothing else, I (a stranger on the internet) am so proud of you. Whether you are struggling through a terrible depression right now or if it was years ago, I am proud of you because mental illness isn't easy, and some days life might not feel worth it, but I just want everyone to know that you are important and you are worth it.

Now this originally was supposed to talk about mental illness and being a content creator, which is something i've been struggling with a lot. I don't feel inspired to create content. I, right now, barely feel inspired to get out of bed. However I think this ended up making a more important point that you aren't alone in this struggle, and there is someone out there who cares about you. I promise.
Penny from Girl Online
There is one reason I feel like I am so much like Penny, and that's because of her anxiety. I mean I also have a blog, but I don't blog like she does. However I have anxiety and panic disorder, and I have a very similar reaction to her. It reall made me connect with the character.
Elise from This Song Will Save Your Life
When I was in high school, I had a very similar experience with music. It brought some light into my life when it seemed to be completely dark. Now I didn't become a DJ, but I understand that music can help you through a dark time.
However, I want to talk about how amazing of a character Sara Lance is. Even after life on Lian Yu and dealing with Ivo, she is so strong, independent, and willing to do what she needs to do. Now I feel like throughout Legends of Tomorrow I feel like Sara Lance has grown as a character. She used to be kind of a loner, but throughout the show, she has become a great friend. Her friendship with Kendra has really allowed her to blossom as a person.
I also feel like she's a really great role model. Unless I'm mistaken (which is possible, I haven't done a lot of research), she is one of the few women in the League of Assassins other than Nyssa. I feel like you have to be a really strong woman to be in the League of Assassins. Now not only is she a great fighter, but all of the other people in the group use a gun or gun like weapon, she rarely uses guns and is always able to handle herself.
My last reason I want to talk about is based on a specific episode. So if you haven't watched Legends of Tomorrow, this isn't really a spoiler, but if you like going into episodes blind then I wouldn't continue reading. There is an episode where they go back to the 1950s, and Sara meets a nurse, and she teaches the nurse in the 1950s that it's okay to like women, and to ignore the prejudice. That's something that not every character would do. I think that was the episode that I fell in love with Sara Lance.
I know that she has her faults, and she's not perfect, but Sara Lance has become one of my favorite fictional characters.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13415270475865873024noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7596743596781073939.post-37560526037669096612016-04-19T16:14:00.001-04:002016-04-19T16:14:17.827-04:00BookCon Meet UpIf you didn't know already I'm going to BookCon! This will be my third and possibly my final going to BookCon. Now my favorite memory is the very first year I went to BookCon we did a meet up at the Strand and a bunch of booktubers went. I got to meet a lot of awesome people, and it was a great experience. I wanted to do this in Chicago since we didn't have one last year, I thought about organizing one. Now if this isn't something that anyone is interested in, that's fine, but I thought I would offer. I'm sure there will be a meet up at BookCon, but I wanted to offer one outside of BookCon for those who live in the Chicago area and couldn't go. If you're interested, let me know! I can come up with a time and a place, but I won't worry about that until I know other people are interested. Please feel free to share! Also if you are from the Chicago area and know of a cool local bookstore please let me know :)Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13415270475865873024noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7596743596781073939.post-12186389638543336122016-03-04T09:37:00.001-05:002016-03-04T09:37:38.511-05:00Booktube Census 2016So life has been stressful, and when life gets stressful I like to do projects. So I want to start working on the booktube census. However I wanted to get your opinions on what I should put in this year's census. I want to keep the demographic questions (i.e. age, gender, etc.). However I want to get your opinions on what we would want to learn about the community this year. Any suggestions are welcome. Also I need help spreading the word this year so if you want to help let me know as well. I'm hoping to start the survey in April or May, and having the result come out late May or early June.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13415270475865873024noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7596743596781073939.post-87587537772631297102016-03-03T16:53:00.001-05:002016-03-03T16:53:27.545-05:00I Need Your HelpSo I'm having a few dilemmas. I finally feel okay enough with life that I want to make videos again.

However I want to start with some easy content so I was going to start with a Q&A. So if you could ask questions either in the comments or via Twitter I would really appreciate it. Also I haven't been reading so I wanted some ideas for content. I have been playing a lot of Pokemon, and watching a lot of shows so I thought about doing videos or blog posts on those topics. So if you are interested in any of these let me know, and in what forms you would want.

I thought about doing a recently watched, or possibly reviews on the shows I've been watching.
For Pokemon, I thought about talking about my favorite pokemon or possibly reviewing Pokemon Y, which is what I've been playing a lot.

If you have any other ideas for content you want to see from me let me know :)Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13415270475865873024noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7596743596781073939.post-82621422808480590802016-02-27T16:26:00.004-05:002016-02-27T16:27:09.550-05:00Thoughts on Gilmore Girls ReunionSo I have been binge rewatching Gilmore Girls, and I am super excited for the reunion. So I obviously have high hopes. Probably too high, but that's okay. So here are some hopes and dreams that I have.

Now this one I know isn't happening, but I was hoping that they would just say Richard is traveling. I couldn't imagine Emily without Richard, but that's already been confirmed that it was not the case. I was hoping that we would have a kind of happy Emily instead of a grieving one.

For Jackson and/or Sookie to come back, I know Melissa McCarthy isn't confirmed to come back, and I believe Jackson Douglas might be coming back. However ideally they will both come back.

If Rory ends up with one of her ex-boyfriends, I really want her to end up with Logan. I was never really a fan of Jess, and I liked Dean at first, but my fondness for him diminished over time. However Logan I grew to love. I know all three of them are confirmed to come back so that should be interesting. However she could end up with someone entirely new and that would be great! I just couldn't imagine who.

Lorelai ends up with Luke. Period. I just want her and Luke to be together and happy. Yes, I know they are fictional characters, but they are adorable, and I need more Luke and Lorelai in my life.

Lastly I'm just hoping the characters are still witty, and funny, which I'm sure will be the case.

Either way, I am really excited for the reunion, and have high hopes.

I need to stop making videos for the forseeable future. This semester has been hell. First Cullen's mom is in the ICU. Then my boss dies, someone steals half of my savings account. I get bit by a dog, and Cullen and I broke up. Now our break-up was amicable. He has a lot going on in his life, and it just wasn't the right time, and as much as it sucks, I understand. However that doesn't change that I'm barely holding the pieces of my life together. I want to continue blogging, but I need to take a long step back from YouTube. I might do some different types of blog posts rather than bookish ones because I haven't been read. You know it's a special type of sadness when you're too sad to read. I didn't want to make a video about it purely because I know I would cry. Hopefully my hiatus won't be too long, and I hope you understand that I need this.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13415270475865873024noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7596743596781073939.post-92192034412001820462016-01-10T20:27:00.004-05:002016-01-10T20:27:58.061-05:00I'm Taking A BreakNow this is just an FYI for those who watch my youtube channel. I'm going to be taking a break for a little while. I would have made a video, but I just didn't feel up to it. I've had a lot of drama happen in my life. Someone I am close to is in the hospital, and my very amazing and wonderful boss passed away unexpectedly. So while I deal with that, I don't want to feel the pressure of not creating blog posts or videos. I have some videos filmed, but I'm just not up to editing. So I will have a very late favorite books of 2015, and I'm sorry, but I'm just mentally and physically drained right now. I hope to feel up to creating content again soon, but I just need to focus on myself and the people around me right now.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13415270475865873024noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7596743596781073939.post-54906155872538410632016-01-05T09:00:00.001-05:002016-01-05T09:04:12.281-05:00My Problems With Gift Giving And An IdeaI have been driving a lot throughout my holiday season, and I realized one thing. I really hate getting gifts. Now not gifts from my family because I'm always prepared to give something back. However I've had wonderful friends who gave me gifts for either my birthday or Christmas, and in all honesty, that really stresses me out. Now don't get me wrong, I appreciate how kind and generous my friends are I just live with the anxiety that I haven't gotten them something back. I have a terrible memory for birthdays, and I always feel bad when I forget someone's birthday, which is more often than I would like to admit.
So when it comes to gifts, I'm like Sheldon Cooper. If you don't watch The Big Bang Theory, there is an episode where Penny gets Sheldon a Christmas gift. He wants to adequately reciprocate her gift so he goes to Bath & Body Works, and he buys a gift basket in every size so he can give her the proper gift. Now that's how I feel about gifts. I hate not knowing I'm getting them, and I hate not being able to reciprocate them. With being a college student, I can't always get my friends gifts, and that stresses me out far more than it should.

Now to alleviate some of that stress, I thought of a pretty great idea. Once I get my first full time job which should hopefully be soon. I want to get all of my friends' wishlists, and at random points in the year buy them a book. So that at Christmas time I don't feel guilty because I can't afford to buy all of my family and friends stuff. The idea has helped alleviate some of the anxiety.

Does anyone else get like this? Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13415270475865873024noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7596743596781073939.post-7101503075029378862015-12-31T17:13:00.001-05:002015-12-31T17:13:32.269-05:00New Year's ResolutionsNow I'm not much of a resolution person so really the title should be in quotation marks.. I never stick to them as much as I want to say I'll exercise (which I really need to do because my upper body strength is scarily bad). I know saything that is a one of my "New Year's resolutions" won't make me make sure I do it. However once I posted my 2016 bookish resolutions video I thought of other silly things. So here's a list of some resolutions I have for 2016. Most of these are for my channel.

Use my lighting kit. I've had it for a few months now, and I haven't even opened it yet so I want to start using that.

Have less TBR (to be read) books than I start out with. There will probably be a TBR video in the near future. I want to say I'll have 0 TBR books by 2017, but I know that's impossible. However having less TBR books would be nice.

Start making thumbnails. I always forget to take thumbnail pictures, and I've been wanting to make my channel look more professional.

Learn to use all the features of my camera and editing software. I only ever useone feature or two, and whenever I try to learn I get overwhelmed pretty easily.

Those are just a few things I hope to work on in 2016. Let me know what some of your resolutions or goals are.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13415270475865873024noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7596743596781073939.post-24223445117964964392015-12-29T08:57:00.001-05:002015-12-29T08:57:31.935-05:00Back to Blogging? It was never my intention to leave this blog to essentially die. However life got in the way, and I didn't have anything I really wanted to write one post. So I'm hoping to get back to blogging. Now there are no promises that I'll be able to be consistent with this, but I'm exited to hopefully be back for 2016. I have at least one post idea. I might do a lot of reviews on here. I also might review some of the shows I watch in 2016. If there is anything you want to see, let me know.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13415270475865873024noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7596743596781073939.post-70422591495022545222015-01-04T09:21:00.001-05:002015-01-04T09:23:21.618-05:00Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award

Name one of your blogging or reading resolutions.

One of my reading resolutions is to read a wider variety of books. I was stuck in a contemporary rut throughout 2014, and I want to read some fantasy and science fiction again.

Do you use the Yearly Goodreads Reading Challenge? If so, did you accomplish it in 2014?

Yes I use the Goodreads Reading Challenge, and I accomplished my 2014 goal! 100 books in 365 days. Not too shabby!

What was your anticipated book of 2014? Did you get to read it?

I guess my most anticipated book of 2014 was Isla and the Happily Ever After, and I read it the day I got it. I didn't know about a lot of 2014 releases because I had just joined the book blogging community so I don't have a lot to chose from.

What was your anticipated movie of 2014?

The Fault in our Stars I guess. I'm not a big movie person so I really wasn't looking forward to any movies. However in 2015 it's Paper Towns for sure!

Name three anticipated book releases for 2015.

I only get to pick three! Sheesh that's going to be hard. I'm going to go with The Start of Me and You by Emery Lord, Tonight The Streets Are Ours by Leila Sales, and Winter by Marissa Meyer. However I'm also looking forward to the new books coming out by Rainbow Rowell, Jennifer E. Smith, and Katie Finn

For a while, I had been thinking about my "bucket list" of authors I would want to meet. Most of them are my favorite authors, some of them have a random reason, and others I just think they would be interesting people to have a cup of coffee with. So here are some of the authors that I would love to meet.

Ernest Cline
In 2014, I read Ready Player One, and it easily became one of my favorite books of all time. I would love just to sit down and have a cup of coffee with him to pick his brain on how he even came up with this world and this concept. I would love a minute to pick his brain. I'm sure we could talk video games for hours, and I would absolutely love it!
Eric Smith
Eric Smith is someone who I have communicated with a bit because of reviewing book for Quirk, and to be honest, he just seems like a lovely human being. He always sends the nicest emails. I would love to just chat with him about books, and thank him for being an awesome and amazing human being. I've read his book, The Geek's Guide To Dating, and I loved it! I feel like he's another author who I would love to just chat with. I feel like it would be so much fun.
Jennifer M. Eaton
She is someone I just want to meet so that I can thank her. She was the first author that I ever got to do a blog tour for. I just want to see her in person so I can genuinely thank her for that experience, and if she is a hugger, give her a hug. She seems so nice, and I would just love to meet her in person.
Emery Lord
I loved Open Road Summer, and I also follow Emery Lord on Twitter. She seems to be incredibly funny, and I just feel like she would be a lovely person to meet. I just feel, as with many of the other authors on this list, that she would be a great person to just sit down and chat with. However I'm also so excited to see where her career goes so I would just love to meet her to show my support.

I got this as a review book from Netgalley, and these are my honest opinions.

We Should Hang Out Sometime by Josh Sundquist

Genre: Non-fiction, Humor, Contemporary

Pages: 336

Synopsis (From Goodreads):

A bright, poignant, and deeply funny autobiographical account of coming of age as an amputee cancer survivor, from Josh Sundquist: Paralympic ski racer, YouTube star, and motivational speaker.

Josh Sundquist only ever had one girlfriend.

For twenty-three hours.

In eighth grade.

Why was Josh still single? To find out, he tracked down the girls he had tried to date and asked them straight up: What went wrong?

The results of Josh's semiscientific, wholly hilarious investigation are captured here. From a disastrous Putt-Putt date involving a backward prosthetic foot, to his introduction to CFD (Close Fast Dancing), to a misguided "grand gesture" at a Miss America pageant, this story is about looking for love--or at least a girlfriend--in all the wrong places.

My Thoughts

I absolutely adored this book. I had been in quite a reading slump lately, and I read this book in about 24 hours. I tend to not enjoy non-fiction, but Josh Sundquist's writing style was witty and humorous. I would definitely recommend it especially if you're looking for a really witty and humorous non-fiction book.

Synopsis (From Goodreads)

Fifteen-year-old math prodigy Seth Gordon knows exactly what he wants to do with his life—play video games. Every spare minute is devoted to honing his skills at Starfare, the world's most popular computer game. His goal: South Korea, where the top pros are rich and famous. But the best players train all day, while Seth has school and a job and divorced parents who agree on only one thing: "Get off that damn computer." Plus there's a new distraction named Hannah, an aspiring photographer who actually seems to understand his obsession.

While Seth mopes about his tournament results and mixed signals from Hannah, Team Anaconda, one of the leading Korean pro squads, sees something special. Before he knows it, it's goodbye Kansas, goodbye Hannah, and hello to the strange new world of Korea. But the reality is more complicated than the fantasy, as he faces cultural shock, disgruntled teammates, and giant pots of sour-smelling kimchi.

What happens next surprises Seth. Slowly, he comes to make new friends, and discovers what might be a breakthrough, mathematical solution to the challenges of Starcraft. Delving deeper into the formulas takes him in an unexpected direction, one that might just give him a new focus—and reunite him with Hannah.

My Thoughts

I really enjoyed this book. I thought the story was very unique, and it was unlike anything I had read before. It was a fun light read. However I felt like maybe the second half of the book dragged on a bit longer than it needed to or some part was a bit slow or unnecessary. There was just a small detail about the book that I didn't like, but I can't necessarily put my finger on it. Overall it was a very good book, and I would definitely recommend picking it up sometime.

However, I am trying to be unbiased about her right now so please bear that in mind.

Is it disappointing that she did not write the book on her own? A little bit. Is it the end of the world? Absolutely not. I think Victoria Schwab said it well by saying that this could have all been avoided by saying it was co-written rather than giving the ghost writer no credit. However, all of the people giving Zoella no credit and saying that she can't write is ridiculous. You don't know what she did, and you cannot automatically assume that she did none of the work. If she was proud enough of it to share it with you, then I am willing to bet that a lot of it was her own work. Yes, she had help. Yes, the help should have been credited, but that is not a reason to slander her. To be perfectly honest, her publisher probably didn't want her to say she had help because generally when books are ghost written, it isn't publicized that they didn't write it. I find it absolutely ridiculous what people are saying about her. She is a human being and should be treated as such. I understand that you are frustrated with her. I get that, but that's no reason to be that anonymous person on the internet who just says terrible things. If you're disappointed in her, that's fine, but don't go on the internet and complain about it on Twitter. That's not going to change anything anyway. Normally I stay out of drama, but when I saw her name trending on Twitter, I thought I would scroll through, and you know what? I feel bad for her. She has anxiety issues and as someone with anxiety, I wouldn't want to be going through that. With all of the other problems with youtubers lately, is having a book ghostwritten really the worst thing she could do? Seriously, look at some of the bigger problems we have in the world and take a moment to think if it's really important. You need to remember that venting your frustrations is fine, but keep in mind that there is a person on the other end of that screen.

Essentially I can spew all of the cliches that I use with my children when I teach, but I don't feel like I need to. So just keep in mind. It's okay to be upset, but it is not okay to slander someone as a person because of one thing.Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13415270475865873024noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7596743596781073939.post-17059930480032246722014-11-12T15:47:00.002-05:002014-11-12T15:47:31.099-05:00Review | Find Me I'm Yours

My Thoughts

I found this to be a really unique read. I had never read any interactive books before. So I found this to be really interesting. I really liked all of the artwork and the websites throughout the book and I really thought that they added a lot to the story. I have a hard time picturing characters and scenery so this made the book a bit easier to read for me since I could now picture what Mags was talking about. I found the plot to be rather engrossing. There were a lot of points in the plot that I didn't see coming, and it kept me turning the page. Overall I thought it was a very good book. So if you're looking for a unique read, I would definitely suggest picking this one up!

So I figured I would do it on here. There's really no explanation for them other than they're pretty. :)
My Thought

This story is honestly like nothing else I've ever read before. I've read stories with dual narratives, but never one with dual story lines that are both completely unrelated and completely related all at the same time. The odd chapters, which are about Darcy's life, are actually really interesting. I found myself wanting to know more at the end of each chapter. Then, when it came to Darcy's novel, I found it intriguing. The beginning completely sucked me in and I didn't want to put it down (but unfortunately I had to... stupid school takes up so much time). I found the relationships in both stories to be rather engrossing. I highly recommend it. So, if you are looking for a unique story, look no further than Afterworlds.
